About the tour
Tucked away in protected coves, the island of Quinchao is considered the most emblematic of Chiloés culture and heritage, replete with history, beauty, and charm at every turn.
Picking you up from your Castro hotel in the morning, we’ll head north to Dalcahue to catch a short ferry across a channel to Quinchao Island. On the island, we’ll visit the largest town, Curaco de Velez to see the beautiful wooden church of Achao, which dates back to around 1730. Then, we’ll go farther south on the island to the village of Villa Quinchao, where we will see another large church that seems larger than the village. On the return trip, we stop in Dalcahue to visit its own historic church as well as a craft bazaar where you can buy some authentic souvenirs. You will arrive back at your hotel somewhere around 5:30 p.m.
Included are all transportation, lunch, and an English-speaking guide
