About the tour
A gorgeous jewel of a privately held park reserve, Tepuhueico is both the closest wilderness to Castro and also the most exclusive, giving visitors a glimpse into nature that is less touched than other parks.
Parque Tepuhueico is a nature project situated in the heart of Chiloé Island, covering an area of 20,000 hectares (5000 acres) of native forest. We pick you up in the morning and into the private reserve, so we can take a walk to explore the Myrtles Cathedral. You will also get to see the park’s stunning waterfall that drains from Lake Tepuhueico, and enjoy the beautiful plants, trees, and wildlife present in the area.
Tepuhueico is preferred for bird watching, and we may even spot some rare species such as Pudu and Darwin’s Fox. After the walk, we’ll rest for some lunch, and then if the weather allows, visit Chonchi on the way back to enjoy a hot beverage.
You are returned to your hotel by 5:00 p.m.
Included are all transportation, lunch, and an English-speaking guide.
